Camille: 3 Months

I cannot believe that Cammile is already 3 months old, and yet it feels like she was always a part of our family. I have not been the best blogger, but I want to do at least a couple updates as Camille grows and gets older.

At Camille's 2 month appointment, she was almost 12 pounds and she was 24 inches long! Now that it has been another whole month, I expect that is more, but I haven't really checked. According to the book that I am reading, Camille is doing most things that she is supposed to at her age. She is smiling so much more than she used to, and is mostly content during the day.

When Camille was first born (and for several weeks after that) she absolutely hated bath time. I would put her in and she would scream bloody murder while I rushed to wash her and get her out of there. In just the last couple of weeks she has started to actually enjoy the bath I think. She will sit and kick her legs around and splash the water. It has made the night time so much more enjoyable.

Camille also is being more tolerant to being on her tummy. She used to hate tummy time. The second I would flip her over she would just scream, but now she will sit there and sometimes even talk to you for a while. She doesn't stay on her tummy for too long because she props her head and chest up so high and she starts to get tired. Also, she can roll over from her tummy to her back!! It is so fun to watch her roll over. Sometimes it startles her and she will start to cry, but that is happening less often.
This picture is blurry, but I think it is so funny. She is trying to eat the little tag!
Camille has found her hands and still loves to look at them and explore with them. It has been so fun to watch her learn how to work her body a little better and to watch her grow and learn. She loves to wiggle. She is starting to try to roll from her back to her front, but it results in her just turning around in circles. When I set Camille down she was on the mat and her head was facing the tab at the top. She turned all the way around! She is just a little wiggler.

I just love this little girl so much! I just want to constantly shower her in kisses and loves. She is just amazing and I cannot wait to see what life has in store for this sweet little girl.

Harry Potter

The last couple of months Kevin and I have been on a Harry Potter kick. I decided that I was going to read the series again, and I convinced Kevin that he should listen to it while he is driving truck. After we finish a book, we then watch the movie. It has been so much fun, except I pretty much hate all of the movies. I think I will like them more when I haven't just finished the book. They leave so much out! Anyway, we were at Target last night and we were walking to check out, and all the Harry Potter movies we on sale for $4.50! What a steal! I convinced Kevin to let us buy them, since really we would be saving so much money! So now I have the all of the Harry Potter movies, which I feel great about. As we were checking out, the cashier started talking to us about Harry Potter. After we had been rung up and paid, we continued to talk to him for at least 3 more minutes about Harry Potter. We talked about how you can get Butterbeer at Starbucks, and why Peeves is not in any of the movies. As we were leaving, Kevin and I looked at each other and started laughing because we just talked to a stranger for 5 minutes about Harry Potter. We can now classify ourselves as out of the closet nerds on Harry Potter! We love it and it has been so fun to read the same book and get to talk about them! We Love Harry Potter!

Catching up

I have been really awful at blogging and recording what is going on in our lives. So I am going to cheat and do a quick catch up of what has been going on.

Mid February, Shantel and Lydia came up and visited Camille and I. It was so wonderful to have my sister and niece there. Especially because I was (and still am) trying to figure out the whole mom thing, and it was nice to just have someone there to help me a little bit.

March has just been a whirlwind. I am starting to get the hang of being a mom. I really struggled at first. There is a lot of crying and poop, and not a lot of time to go sit in a bath and relax or go do anything that you really want to do by yourself. It was a big change. Especially because Kevin has been driving truck for the last several months. When he was gone I would have so much anxiety about taking care of Camille by myself. I was always worried that I would be so tired or something that I would start to get upset that she is crying, and I wouldn't have anyone to talk to about it, or have anyone to hold her for a while. But I have been so blessed by my Heavenly Father to give me a calm mind and a pretty happy baby. She is just perfect. Every single day I love her so much more! She makes me so happy! I love when she looks up at me and just smiles. She has rolled over a couple of times, so that is really exciting. I haven't been very good at doing weekly or even monthly reports on her. I am going to try to do that more.

Melissa and Blake were married on March 15th! It was so beautiful! I went down a week early with Camille and we hung out at my parents house, then went down to David and Shantel's to hang out before the wedding. I ended up making the cake for the reception. It turned out okay, I hope Melissa liked it enough. I love being with my family, and I am so glad that Blake is now a part of that family!

We had Camille's baby blessing this last Sunday, March 30th. It was so wonderful, except there was a huge snowstorm so a lot of people were not able to come. Kevin was able to give the blessing and it was beautiful! Camille did not cry during the blessing. I was so worried about that. She can be a screamer sometimes. The people in the circle said that she was just looking at Kevin and smiling during the blessing. We had a lot of family come and support us. It was so nice of them. Then we went to Mike and Charity's house and had a luncheon. It was really such a wonderful day!

Shout out to Shantel for making the Announcements

Our life has been kind of crazy the last couple of months, but we wouldn't change anything. We are so grateful for the family we have and the family we are starting!
