Who lost the first tooth in the Haderlie Home?

This is currently the ongoing joke in our home trying to make light of what happened.

We were watching some of our friends, Isabella and Faith, and Jason was trying to throw a pillow up to Isabella. While he was throwing it up, he hit his face on the rung of the bunk bed and started crying. I rushed in to see what had happened and there was blood everywhere. I carried Jason into the bathroom and then looked at his teeth. Both of his front teeth were pushed really far back. I was really worried about it. We were watching Isabella and Faith so we didn't have enough car seats to take everyone to the dentist.

I quickly called Kevin and he luckily was close by. He rushed home, grabbed Jason, and left. We have a couple of dentist/oral surgeons in our ward. Kevin called them and they said that it would probably be okay until the next day. They didn't seem so worried about it.

We ended up taking Jason to a dentist the next day. This dentist seemed a little crazy if I am putting it right. We just didn't click very well. He told me that Jason had broken the ligament on one of his front teeth. He compared it to the O rings in the challenger space shuttle. And how the O rings didn't work right and that is why the space shuttle exploded. And that is what was going to happen to Jason's adult teeth if we didn't pull it out. I wanted a second opinion.

So a couple days later we went to another highly recommended dentist. Unfortunately the first one wasn't crazy, and he also recommended that we pull one of Jason's front teeth.  So we had it pulled. Jason got some laughing gas. He was being so funny and giggly. We kept saying that it looked like he was wearing a
clown nose, and he just giggled. The dentist came in and numbed it up a little with a needle. That was the worst part for Jason. After he was numb, the dentist pulled the tooth. It took 2 seconds. Then it was all over.

He thinks it is the greatest thing having no tooth. He thinks it is so funny that he lost a tooth before Camille did even though she is older. He loved having the tooth fairy come and leave money, and he loved getting McDonalds after getting his tooth pulled. He was so brave and I was so proud of him.

He keeps trying to knock the other one out now. It just makes me laugh so much. He is the silliest and sweetest little boy. Love you Jason, thanks for keeping life interesting!

Bolt Bash

Camille has loved being in school. She loves participating in everything. Her school was holding a "Bolt Bash" fundraiser. They had a pizza dinner and a silent auction and games. So we headed over. Kevin was even able to come with us. We had pizza and popcorn and cookies for dinner, which meant the kids had cookies for dinner.

They had a lot of awesome things for the silent auction, but we didn't bid early enough. They said they were going to start the bidding at 7, but the started sooner so we missed that. But the kids were able to go around and play games and win candy and toys and they loved it. Spending a little time with my family doing some fun things is my favorite thing to do. Camille even won a cake walk (we had to do it like 12 times, but luckily the line was short.) Here are some pictures from the Bolt Bash. Love you Camille. I know you probably wont remember these memories, but I hope you remember the feeling of fun you had with your family and how much we love you!

Quick Trip to Omaha Nebraska

Kevin needed to go to Omaha to pick up a new truck. We were debating between us driving him over, or he was going to get an Uber to come pick him up and take him over. At the very last minute he ordered an Uber, then I called him up again and said we wanted to take him over. We needed a little adventure, and if he had to buy a hotel room anyway, then we might as well tag along and make a little trip out of it for me and the kids.

We set out right after dinner. It took about 3.5 hours to get to Omaha. The kids started asking if we were there about 30 minutes into the trip, but it ended up being okay. I think Jason was the only one who actually fell asleep at all. I was grateful when we made it to the hotel, but really the kids did pretty well.

We got all tucked into the hotel. Camille and Jason think staying at a hotel is the coolest thing ever (I did too at that age). They thought it was so special. Everyone fell asleep well and all the kids slept really good through the night. I did not sleep well through the night. My stomach was so sick, I ended up waking up in the middle of the night and made my way to the bathroom for a while. Luckily it was just during the night and I felt better by morning. And no one else was sick and slept through everything. So that is something to be grateful for.

In the morning I went to pick up doughnuts for breakfast because the hotel we slept in was a cheap one. I drove over to a walmart, and then came back to the hotel. The doughnuts were terrible, so I ended up leaving again to go to Casey's and get some doughnuts.  In the end we watched cartoons and drank juice and ate doughnuts and it was the perfect morning. The kids loved it. If we all could just enjoy the little things in life more we would all be happier.

After breakfast we dropped Kevin off at the place he was buying the semi and headed into town. We made our way to the free train museum and it was SO FUN. I really enjoyed it and I wish that Kevin could have come with us. It would have made it all the more fun.

The Train museum was built inside of an old Carnage Library. I have a special place in my heart for Carnage Libraries because my library growing up in Ephraim Utah was a Carnage Library.

Here are some pictures of our adventures at the Train Museum.

After the museum we just drove home. We thought about taking a detour in Des Moines, but changed our mind. We just needed to be home. Even though it really was a quick trip, it was so fun and was just what we needed. I am glad I was able to spend some time with my family doing something fun.
